Woodrow M. Poplin, P.E. is President of W Poplin Engineering LLC and a consulting engineer in the areas of accident analysis and reconstruction including heavy vehicle event data retrieval, collision analysis, failure analysis, vehicle accident simulation and airbag control module (ACM) download and analysis. Mr. Poplin received his B.S. degree and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and his Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and is accredited as a reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR #74) and NAPARS. During the past 28 years, Mr. Poplin has evaluated over 2600 vehicle accidents approximately 1/3 of which involved heavy trucks. He has served as an expert witness on numerous civil cases and has designed tie down and lifting components used in trucking transportation.
