Preston's securities practice focuses on the defense of brokerage firms and financial institutions against claims asserted by their customers and former employees in court and arbitration proceedings across the United States. Preston also has extensive experience seeking expungement of customer complaints for financial advisors. Representative clients include UBS Financial Services, Fidelity, Wells Fargo, Edward Jones, Morgan Stanley, New York Life, and Regions Bank.Preston also has an estate planning practice, which includes the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives for health care (living wills), and other estate planning documents. Preston has developed estate plans for all types of individual clients and has represented financial institutions in trust and probate litigation.Preston is also a member of Bressler's Senior and Vulnerable Investor Group. The lawyers in this group have a shared interest in providing counsel to corporate clients who confront issues affecting seniors.Admitted to practice law in both Alabama and Georgia, Preston’s recent achievements include securing a reversal of a trial court's decision in the Supreme Court of Alabama, successfully arbitrating a matter for a global financial services firm, and obtaining summary judgment in the Northern District of Alabama on behalf of one of the nation's largest mortgage lenders and servicers.Preston is committed to providing pro bono legal services as part of his regular practice. To that end, Preston volunteers monthly with Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham (VLB), a nationally-recognized organization that provides free legal services to low-income Birmingham citizens.
