"Cost-Effective Data Collection to Support INDOT's Mission" with Jon D. Fricker, Ph.D.: I worked with numerous faculties to analyze ways to reduce the expenditures for INDOT without reducing safety and while still meeting federal regulations.“An Assessment of Alternative Intervals for Bridge Inspection Interval Frequency: A Framework and Case Study involving 24- and 48-Month Intervals” with Jon Fricker, Rob Connor, and Sam Labi: I chose to advance the idea of using a 48-month inspection interval for bridges good condition or better. I used econometric modeling to show that using the extended interval for bridges in good condition leads to no reduction in safety. This extended interval would allow the DOT to evaluate bridges in poor condition more closely and lead to more safety.“Estimating Long Term Impacts of Sustainable Energy Projects on Local Roads” with John E. Haddock, Ph.D., P.E and Jon D. Fricker, Ph.D.: I used Excel to develop a workbook that allows rural country engineers to estimate the cost of reconstructing county roads for sustainable energy projects. The standard AASHTO design guide was used for the ethanol and biomass plants while the design for wind farms was based on Asphalt Institute’s manual Thickness Design: Asphalt Pavements for Heavy Wheel Loads (21). The workbook was created to be as simple and user friendly as possible.

$128.5M 10 mile I-75 widening and reconstruction with 3 interchangesDeveloped and Implemented Maintenance of Traffic Plans for construction phasing, created CAD drawings to represent project progress for DOT personnel, tracked quantities, implemented quality control measures. Produce Erosion Control Reports; review field conditions of erosion control measures.

I received field training on robotic total station and and level. Field tasks included roadway, building and site layout as well as boundary and topographic survey data collections.Office work included building corridor models of roadways, as well as creating official surveying documents such as boundary survey and rights-of-way documents.
