NetDocuments operates a SaaS-based Document and Email Management service, where I am actively involved in performance and scalability. I configure and monitor Akamai functions, including DSA, WAF, DNS, and NetStorage. I installed and configured AppDynamics and worked with DevOps to release the AppDynamics APM client to over 650 servers via Chef. I am responsible for the data encryption subsystem from Quintessence Lab, and am a technical advisor to Quintessence Labs to enhance their Key Management System. In addition, I lead the Redis Integration Project commencing with session management. I am also a Network Security consultant at NetDocuments.

Short term IT and network consulting. Example projects included network and firewall setup for a small construction company, along with VPN tunnel setup and Active Directory maintenance. Developed Ruby software to automate data entry into QuickBooks.

SecureAlert designs and manufactures GPS tracking devices with built-in cellular capabilities, and tracks offenders and others who wear or carry these devices. Initial responsibilities included web site design and operation, tracking software, enterprise IT, along with Networking and Security. Following a successful campaign to scale and stabilize the web site and tracking software, responsibilities were increased to include all cellular communications, firmware design, and hardware engineering. After correcting a number of critical engineering quality issues, I was called upon to manage the Supply Chain and device manufacturing process, including contract manufacturing vendor management.While at SecureAlert, I have successfully led efforts to scale the web site and device tracking software by 3-fold, implemented a migration plan to Ruby on Rails from Windows .NET, planned for data center redundancy, and enhanced network security. Telecommunication costs, the highest operational technology expense, were cut by 25%. A number of critical device design issues were identified and corrected. After assuming control over device manufacturing and supply chain operations, device production scaled 5-fold with improved quality, while reducing the cost per device by 20%.

Responsible for the Cafepress.com website, Corporate IT, Security, and technology compliance. This includes Site Operations and Administration, Corporate IT and Security, Network Engineering, and Database Administration, along with website Infrastructure and Data Center Architecture. Additional responsibilities include PCI and pre-IPO SOX compliance. Highlights include:- Scaled the cafepress.com website to meet a 4x growth in revenue, while improving operational cost. - Built the department from 3 engineers to 25, including Engineering and Operations teams in Manila and India.- Countered a DDoS attack by identifying the botnet command and control nodes and worked with the FBI to destroy the botnet.

Contract assignment with the brokerage clearing division of Societe Generale providing due diligence analysis of a possible acquisition. Analyzed both technology and business functions and presented findings and recommendations to the customer. Follow-on contract to assist with the IPO separation of SG Cowen LLC from Societe Generale. Provided technology project management, insuring that all Cowen technology functions were properly isolated from SG internal functions. Developed business plans, expense and revenue models, and presentations to senior management. Lastly, uncovered an overpayment of contract fees in excess of $2,000,000 per year. Created a process to reconcile contract fee collections and payments to avoid future over payments. Storage Area Networking (SAN) consulting to the NASA Ames Research Center. Performed a thorough analysis of the existing data center equipment, including equipment inventory, data encryption and security, operational procedures, and expansion possibilities. Produced management reports and presented findings and recommendations to senior NASA officials. Generated a proposal to reconfigure and expand the SAN with a strategy for replacing end-of-life equipment. Based on the merits of the proposal, a contract was awarded to double the storage capacity at the NASA Ames Research Center.Performed a technology infrastructural analysis for Lower Colorado River Authority. A report detailing recommendations was produced, with a presentation to the CIO highlighting the major areas for improvement. Developed a high-level architecture for the Tennessee Valley Authority for web-based energy portal.Provided expert witness testimony related to project management, software development, and testing thoroughness. Produced expert witness technical reports detailing analyses and findings.

Built a department totaling over 50 engineers and motivated teams in completing mission critical projects, such as, Y2K, Decimalization, and regulatory projects. Ultimately accountable for a $15 Million budget and the technology driving $1 Billion in revenue.Responsible for E*Trade's Internet based trading systems. This included the technology governing all order flow, portfolio management, market data, and brokerage automation functions. Contract software engineering assignment to the Over-the-Horizon radar project. Initially responsible for augmenting operating systems standard fault monitoring functions to meet reliability and fault tolerance requirements. Requirements included detecting and reporting faulty floating point accelerator modules. Follow-on duties included expanding the central network subsystem to allow communications with remote sites, and system integration.

Software engineer on GPS, avionics, and flight simulation systems. Implemented control laws for the Boeing 757/767 auto-pilot. Developed a graphical design system for designing flight instruments.
