PhD candidate in Clemson University’s Physics and Astronomy Department. Employed at the Clemson Nanomaterials Institute. Research focuses included studies into the fundamental interactions between nanomaterials and biological systems for toxicology and disease detection/treatment. Fluent in various nanomaterials synthesis methods (e.g., combustion, chemical vapor deposition), wet chemistry, cell culturing, cellular uptake experiments, and characterization of materials properties via microscopy (fluorescence, hyperspectral, multiphoton) and spectroscopy (photoluminescence, Raman, UV-Vis, FT-IR, Z-Scan).

Managed the Clemson Nanomaterials Inst. and the in-house biophysics and toxicology research center, the Clemson Nano-Biophysics Laboratory. Experience and duties included: coordinating between CNI R&D and external departments/collaborators/suppliers/maintenance, training/mentoring interns and visiting scientists, conducting internal audit preparation, ensuring performance quality controls, performing laboratory procurement and account management, and enforcing OSHA standards on project progress and safety.

Research focuses included optical physics, materials science, and astrophysics. Experienced in building laser systems, nanomaterials synthesis, and optimizing telescopes for the installation of UNC Asheville's Lookout Observatory.
