There's nothing like watching a family member go through a life-changing surgery to make you reevaluate your priorities. And so, after 25 years of writing and editing within the health care space, I returned to school to obtain a certificate in residential interior design.Although I'm new to the field, I've got years of varied work experience under my belt. Writer and editor, you already know about. But what you might not know is that I've been helping friends and family redesign, decorate and organize their spaces for years. I love to immerse myself in each and every project--from suggesting paint colors (and doing the actual painting), to hanging hardware, to sourcing vintage pieces. And, my time in the corporate world has taught me about project management, the importance of collaboration and that every problem has a solution if you're willing to keep an open mind and think outside the box from time to time.I'm excited about this new path, and I can't wait to see where it takes me!
