I completed my graduate capstone in patient flow improvement. Using Lean methodologies I brought together multidisciplinary teams to map current processes, identify barriers to smooth patient flow, and recommend innovative ways to overcome these challenges, as well as reduce process variability and increase operational efficiency. As an intern at Journey Mental Health Center, I attended several governance committees, including the policy review and development, safety, and ethics committees. I also worked to update the electronic health record, adding patients to the system and helping to schedule appointments. I also wrote the center's social media policy, and assisted with meeting CARF accreditation requirements.
