In my role of councillor, I will do my utmost to ensure that the residents of not only Division 4, but Rocky View County as a whole, feel as though they have a voice on council. Moving forward, I want to encourage resident participation in creating a sustainable Rocky View that we are all proud to call home. Making decisions that affect people’s livelihoods and day to day quality of life is not something I take lightly. I weigh these decisions against the rights of the individual versus those of the greater good. We hear a lot about landowner rights and the ability to do what we want with our land - there is some truth to that. However, what you do with your land cannot detrimentally impact your neighbour. There must be community buy-in.We must follow the rules. If the rules need reviewing or changing then let’s review or change them rather than continuously break them. This puts everyone on a level playing field as they can manage expectations and have a reasonable understanding of potential outcomes. Accountability and transparency are paramount to any successful government. You have my commitment that I will always stand up for and do what is highest and best for Rocky View County.I have a BA (Hons) Political Science/English with a Post Grad in Public Relations and Communications. A keen interest in government, I find the municipal level the most engaging and have always been involved in politics on a grassroots level. Even though community politics doesn't involve life changing decisions like health care and education, it’s the day to day nitty gritty aspects of public policy that really impact us most. It is the local level of politics where individuals should have the most say over what goes on around them.

  Rocky View County is located in southern Alberta. It surrounds the cities of Calgary, Cochrane and Chestermere on three sides and totally surrounds Airdrie and Crossfield. Rocky View County is comprised of almost a million acres and spans a total of 120 km from corner to corner. Division 4 is the NW of the County and contains the communities of Bearspaw, Bottrel, Madden and the Grande Valley. While our visions of what rural is may differ – from a small acreage to a multi-section ranch, to something in between – we all chose to live in Rocky View for a reason.
