I’m the executive producer and host of Don't Call Me Resilient, an award-winning weekly news podcast (Gold medal, Anthem Award). I'm also a senior editor at The Conversation Canada. I live at the intersection of news, education and social impact. I thrive on telling stories that challenge the status quo—whether through breaking news coverage or in-depth features. As a research associate at the Global Journalism Innovation Lab at the University of British Columbia, I’m deeply invested in the future of journalism and have presented and given keynotes at conferences. My reporting has taken me from New York to Mumbai, contributing to outlets such as The New York Times Magazine, VIBE, The Village Voice, Essence, and more. I’ve also freelanced for high-profile publications like Men’s Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and O, The Oprah Magazine, and launched projects, including Masala Mixx on CKLN Radio and BrownSugarOnline, the first online zine for South Asian women.Beyond journalism, I’m passionate about my creative endeavours. These include UPSARI, a sari-inspired fashion and storytelling project and @lakehuronaframe, where I’m restoring a 1961 A-frame using lost and found materials.
