Petfinder.com saw a 27 percent increase during promotion. • Developed a media relations and marketing campaign for The BackStoppers to raise money and gain members during its annual membership appeal. Promotion generated record donations and memberships during the one-month campaign in 2017.

Responsible for the planning and execution of all communications and public relations activity, including media relations, media buying, external and internal communications, publications and website management. Oversee a team of 3 in the communications department and manage a budget of $415,000.• Created and managed the promotion of the annual Tree of Lights fundraising campaign from 2007-2012. Increased the amount of funds raised by 27 percent in kettles and 329 percent online.• Developed and supervised a food-donation campaign at area Walmart stores in 2012 that raised $14,009; 6,000 pounds of food; $7,000 in product from Walmart; and more than $75,000 of exposure on KSDK. • Directed communications during the emergency response for tornadoes in St. Louis. Placements included: telethons on KTVI, stories about our mobile feedings and volunteer cleanups on KSDK, KTVI, KMOV and KMOX. Each included messaging supporting the mission of the organization.• Supervised the redesign of stlsalvationarmy.org to solidify branding standards and seamlessly share stories and promotions with the public.• Created and established social media pages highlighting the Army’s work in the community. Implemented strategic social media plan and analytics program.

Managed the communication of zoo information in a manner directed by the zoo’s mission, vision, strategic plan and budget. Oversaw a team of 2-3 team members based on seasonal needs and managed a budget of $50,000. • Developed, pitched, and managed multiple appearances including national interviews on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Good Morning America” on ABC, “The Early Show,” and “Montel” for the zoo’s African Grey Parrot. The zoo saw a significant increase in Bird Show attendance and web traffic as a result.• Managed content on the zoo’s website that included writing for the web, developing and organizing content, and focusing on new exhibits and special events.• Successfully managed issues ranging from West Nile Virus, animal emergencies and protests.

Managed fundraising events for the Knoxville chapter. Recruited volunteer committees, provided leadership and support to volunteers, and gained sponsorship for events.• Supervised and planned a variety of events within five counties of East Tennessee, including WalkAmerica and Bail for Babies. • Managed a major fundraising campaign, Bottles for Babies, within a countywide school system for elementary and middle schools.
