My career mission is to play my role to serve and support teams focused on making the world a better place through occupied spaces. My desire is to work with teams to dream, create, and build projects that produce spaces for people to thrive. As a structural engineer, this is primarily through working alongside like-minded teams of Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to see projects go from ideas to reality; ultimately occupied by clients who thrive in their new environments. I grew up wanting to be an architect and enjoy seeing the creative process of what Architects and Developers come up with to serve their end users. I am driven by seeing projects completed and spaces occupied.I am from the Charleston, SC area and have been doing work here my entire career. The Lowcountry has unique structural hurdles that many other areas across the country do not, so designing is a constant learning experience that builds on each and every project. I have grown to appreciate each team member’s contribution to what it takes to see a project complete, which in turn has allowed me to become a better structural engineer.Having experience in several diverse sectors, I have seen how occupied spaces can make an impact on a community. Whether it is helping design a new office building, restoring a historic structure back to its original glory, providing solutions to a large industrial facility, designing hospital facilities in East Africa, to designing a beam to open up a living room, I have learned that all projects mean something to the end user, and therefore has value.
