I'm performing typical Willow duties in preparation for go-live in May of 2015

Leidos contracts with various health care facilities to supply resources for Epic projects. My expertise is Willow and Beacon so Leidos calls me when they need a resource in this area.

I'm doing the typical things a Willow analyst does, in addition I am helping with a project for data merge. This is designed to bring all of the deployments into one. I also am updating some of the system lists and working on rules for medication doses for items dosed by salts. (example: calcium carbonate).

I'm on the Willow team building mixtures, orderables, order sets and anything else that is needed. Go-live was in August 2013.

My specialty is Epic Willow (formerly Epic Rx)

I am currently working for Memorial Health on their Willow team. We just did a go-live at Memorial Regional and Memorial Regional South.

I worked on building ERXs, and complex TPNs. I also was helping get the formulary established on their next set of hospitals. The team and facilities are top notch.

I started this engagement in January of 2012. The principal job is working with order sets. I am also helping with Phase of Care issues, I get different small jobs every day and I may be reviewing mixture build and correcting mistakes, or building ONE STEP ERXs for surgery use.

I was called in to replace someone who had a family emergency and needed to leave. My photography background helped me here. This was a short term project where we developed a training program for nurse who were going to go live with bar code med administration. It was very interesting and a bit different than my usual clinical analyst role.

I built order sets, chemo order sets that will work in a non-beacon world, alerts, basic, and complex mixtures, pediatric mixtures, solid mixtures. OSQ, LMA, EFY, PRL, ERX, are some of the master files I used. I also provided support for their Go-Live starting at the beginning of October. I finished here on Oct 24th 2011

CHSLI was just starting EPIC and I helped with standardization and formulary consolidation among the 7 hospitals. I did some building of ERXs - simple meds and simple mixtures.

Worked with financial department and the Willow team to prepare UVA for go-live. I reviewed the CDMs and their link to NDCs and verified that the charges were being sent by Epic to their charge system.

Supported Epic Rx (now willow), Pyxis and any system used by the pharmacy department.

This is where I got my Epic experience. Started out on the pharmacy build team and then transitioned to the Clinical Decision Support team after Abbott Hospital was live on Epic. Our primary function was to build system wild order sets that would be acceptable to a large number of providers throughout the system.

After I got my Pharm D. I wanted to use my clinical skills and Owatonna Hospital was a perfect fit. I still work there as a pharmacist casually. I keep my pharmacy skills this way and that way the pharmacists there only have to work 1 weekend a month.
