Achieving operating profit budget. Maintaining safety and ethical standards. Keeping customers happy. Introducing new products to production. Driving the continual improvement program.

Developing and deploying the continual improvement systems.

Responsible for the continuous improvement activity globally in the Oil & Gas group of Siemens Power Generation, Industrial Applications. We have four main sites across Europe and several more around the world.

I run the Improvement Programs (Six Sigma and Value Generation) and co-ordinate Oil& Gas related quality issues.

Meeting output targets. Forecasting and matching capacity with demand. Maintaining quality, health and safety. Negotiating pay increases and changes to terms and conditions.

Running the continuous improvement programme, including: Facilitating senior management idea generation for new projects, selecting and supporting project leaders, delivering targeted business benefit.

Repairing a strained relationship between GE Industrial Aero Derivatives and EGT. GE were a key supplier, customer and technology partner, as well as being a minority shareholder in the site. We packaged and installed a world first development engine from GE into a CHP system for a UK customer. We designed and manufactured a power turbine for the GE LM1600 engine. A much more productive relationship was achieved, culminating in a bid for the Lincoln site from GE.

Strategy and P&L responsibility. Adopted the Investors in People Standard. Nurtured loyalty from customers and employees. Managed a diversification away from traditional markets and consolidated two sites into one.
