Keeping things in perspective while getting lost in technical details.Being a technically minded person I very much like to dive deep into challenging problems. Always on the lookout for innovative technologies and new developments in the industry, putting them to use where reasonable, I am nevertheless able to not blindly follow the latest hypes. Along the way I have a keen drive to automate and optimize all involved processes where beneficial. As a team lead, I try to be a servant leader that is always ready to support and coach other team members and, due to my technical involvement, to lead by example. My technical skills include (embedded) Linux as well as Windows development using C/C++ and Python, GUI development using Qt/PySide, network and field bus communication protocols, CI/CD setups combined with basic knowledge of cloud development, databases, IT administration and wind turbine generators. One of my core beliefs is that every engineer needs to have a hands-on understanding of the products and their context she or he is working on. This is something I learned the hard way having to endure the user experience of my own software while sitting on the main shaft of a wind turbine, 100m above ground level. Now, I am able to always look beyond the immediate issue at hand and find solutions that in the end better solve the problem and have a higher reusability.
