I care about people and results. I am passionate about the Human Resources field and firmly believe an organization’s greatest asset are its people. My education at both the undergraduate and post-graduate level in human resources, coupled with a background in customer service, administration, sales, and management, in both the public and private sectors, allows me to have a solid perspective on any situation.My first exposure to Human Resources was as a Grade Nine student volunteering at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). A component of getting an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is to complete fourty hours of volunteer work. I was completely enamoured and fascinated with the pace, direction, actions and many different aspects of CHEO’s HR department, especially the linkages and impact it had on every single person in the organization. Without knowing it at the time, this mandatory portion of our high school diploma would have a profound impact on my eventual career path. When it was time to declare my major at the University of Toronto after first year, it was very obvious the HR route was the one I was going to undertake. To date, my varied experience has spanned many industries including: restaurant, retail, manufacturing, engineering, professional services and higher education. All in all, dealing with people, listening to their concerns, finding creative solutions to their problems, helping people towards their goals and seeing a process through from start-to-finish is truly rewarding and evokes tremendous feelings that are hard to replicate. I wear many different hats and I put on each one with tremendous energy, enthusiasm, excitement, and rigor.
