I am an enthusiastic educator and a lifelong learner who holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. I studied Linguistics and Cognitive Science, with a minor in Psychology in my undergraduate. I was fascinated by the complexity of the human mind and developed a deep interest in understanding how individuals acquire skills and knowledge, and how learning experience could affect learning outcomes. Through my studies, I also gained a comprehensive understanding of the unique traits displayed by children of varying ages and personalities. After completing my undergraduate studies, I pursued further education at Teachers College, Columbia University, specializing in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. During this time, I had the privilege to teach ESL to new immigrants in New York City. Concurrently, I earned certification in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. These experiences broadened my comprehension of the needs of students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Having lived and studied in North America for years, I developed profound insights into the concerns and expectations of students and their families. Motivated by my passion for education, I embarked on my career in the education industry after graduation and became an education coordinator. I adeptly leverage technology tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of my work, enabling me to keep track of students’ progress and provide timely updates and reminders to internal team members and families when needed. I firmly believe in the potential of every student to succeed with tailored support and guidance.
