I am a data scientist with 3 years experience and a PhD candidate. I worked for Bridgewell Inc. and Gmobi Inc. to study, deploy and maintain machine learning systems and was recognized with two awards. I am currently pursuing a PhD. I am also the organizer of the Taiwan R User Group and the adjunct instructor of R language in the university.In the Bridgewell Inc., I studied the state-of-the-art algorithms and infrastructures. Then, I implemented them into the systems. For example, I developed a recommendation system based on modern machine learning techniques and improved the accuracy of click-through rate. I also constructed a proof-of-concept system which reduced the computation time of data processing from hours to minutes with 1/4 machines. In the Gmobi Inc., I developed the proof-of-concept prototype system for mobile DSP business and reduced the cost-per click.In the academic, my research is focus on predicting the market price of the ad impression in the real time bidding. We statistically model the partially observed data and apply modern deep learning methodologies to improve the prediction. I will have two conference papers accepted by KDD, one of the best international conference of data science. My classmates and colleagues know me as not only a professional researcher but also a cooperative co-worker. I love to help my colleagues. In my opinion, the main reason of working is contribution, so I was a volunteer instructor of programming and hosted many seminars in the company. Personally, I contributed to many R packages, hosted workshops for the community, and developed open course of R. My online open course has more than 6000 students so far and is in a recommendation list of self learning resource by the government.I will get the doctor degree of electrical engineering at the end of 2018.
