Melissa Wu is an award-winning cinematographer specialized in dance film. A multidisciplinary artist and a dancer herself, she has spent the last 10 years serving the NYC art non-profits and independent artists through her intuitive creative direction, marketing/branding directorial skills, project management/organization skills, offering hands on social media analysis and strategies, cinematography, photography, graphic design, web design under her media company 828 Media. Supported by different healing commodities, her media products are intertwined with her dance and healing practices. Certified in Kundalini Yoga and Reiki with a B.A. in Dance, Melissa is currently expanding her media art + services for holistic health practitioners, healers, coaches, activism/ethnic groups and individuals, as she build her art/holistic platform + brand WUWU, working with various dance/art creatives in NYC, Brooklyn, Bronx, New Jersey, Las Vegas and Hawaii to explore topics around healing, mental health, racism, humanitarianism, politics, sociology, psychology, biology, quantum physics, spirituality, religion and cultures, as well as offering a platform to showcase professional artists who are also practitioners. Melissa is a Hong Kong native and a survivor of domestic violence. She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York with her 5 year old toddler after a 6 month self-funded and directed artist residency in Las Vegas, Nevada.
