In this role I act as the independent chairman of the board of a Foundation (SBCA) that has as its primary purpose to act, according to Dutch law [Richtlijn Arbodiensten and Reglement Certificatie Arbodiensten] as a clearing house for the ratification of audit and quality certificates needed to operate as a professional Occupational Health Care provider in the Netherlands. In this board are represented: the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW, MKB Nederland, LTO Nederland), the Netherlands Trade Union Confederations (FNV and CNV) and the umbrella organisation of all Dutch Occupational Health and Safety providers (OVAL).

In the Netherlands the right to receive wage compensation through the social securit as a result of (permanent) work disability requires the professional evaluation by a specialised insurance physician. Due to a lack of such physicians there is an unaccpetable back log of these evaluation. In order to come up with short term solutions to counteract this back log a high-level committe was installed by the Dutch Ministery of Social Affairs (SZW), in collaboration with the Netherlands Employees Insurance Agency (UWV) and the Dutch College of Insurance Physicians (NVVG). I served at the request SZW as the independent chairman of this committee. The work of this committee has led to 3 interim progress letters to Dutch parliament.
