As a Sr. Manager of the Manufacturing Engineering organization, my challenge was to develop and implement manufacturing and operations strategies to further support the growth and scale of the whitebox hardware solutions business - with the goal of meeting industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and delivery.I led a team of 4 (at peak) and managed a lean operations in support of releasing the best-in-class hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) system that combines compute, storage and networking resources into a single integrated appliance, providing a tightly integrated solution for virtualized environments.The scope of the role included New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing, sustaining, DFx methodologies, environmental compliance, regulatory (homologation) and the onboarding and management of OEMs and contract manufacturers.𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬:► Optimized and streamlined the E2E manufacturing strategy by shifting from a build-to-order (BTO) to configure-to-order (CTO) process. This resulted in a real-life transformation of the on-time delivery (OTD) metric to 95%+, thus ensuring customer satisfaction.► Implemented DFx methodologies (DFM, DFQ, DFT, DFC) early in the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase for all hardware releases. This resulted in a lower BOM and production cost, quicker time-to-market, improvement of HW quality and better collaboration amongst key stakeholders.► Expanded the regulatory (homologation) roadmap by certifying whitebox solutions to new territories across the globe. This resulted in revenue growth across the organization by introducing new international markets (e.g. South Africa, several EU and APAC countries).►Supported in the ramping up of a new Contract Manufacturer to allow for dual sourcing. This resulted in a business continuity plan (disaster recovery) that achieved three key elements across the organization: resilience, recovery and contingency.

Symantec and Veritas successfully separated in October 2015 completing the operational split into two separate companies focused on security and information management, respectively.Successfully ramped up new NetBackup™ appliances from NPI to mass production; during my tenure at Veritas the NetBackup™ 5240 appliance was ~30% of the total revenue generated for Appliance Solutions.Drove process improvements by implementing a Design for Everything (DFx) methodology at the system level to drive generational improvements for manufacturability, support/serviceability, quality, test, etc.Responsibilities included managing the contract manufacturer to implement change orders (ECO) and deviations, reduce BOM costs and conduct the first article inspection (FAI) to create sustainable and high quality products.

Managed the largest OEM account to ensure operational efficiency across both Fremont, CA and Suzhou, China factories.Helped build up the Suzhou, China factory from the ground up by successfully transferring over the E2E manufacturing process implemented in the US factory. Also worked with various Account Managers by bringing over key HPC and OEM accounts and building up a domestic China team covering all aspects of the organization (Production, Program Management, Supply Chain and Operations).

Responsibilities included spinning up a new contract manufacturer to ramp up production of the ClustrixDB scale-out database appliance, created bill of materials, change orders and deviations throughout the product lifecycle.Tracked and reported production quality metrics and worked with suppliers to nail down the root cause of failures and defects for generational improvements of the hardware.
