Computer scientist — master’s degree (1979) and PhD degree (1986) at Technische Hochschule Ilmenau (now Technische Universität Ilmenau). Former employee at Zielona Góra Polytechnic as an assistant professor and then at Technische Hochschule Ilmenau. Chose industry and business over an academic career. Spent many years in Germany specializing in object oriented technologies: Smalltalk programming, analysis and design, developing complex systems in Smalltalk, subsequently Java. He run training courses for German industry and financial institutions within the scope of object-orientation. Worked on projects for AEG/Frankfurt, Versicherungskammer Bayern/Munich and Siemens/Munich, amongst others. Right from the outset had his eye set on innovative technologies and solutions.In 1993 he established ASTEC, an IT company, taking up the challenge of introducing object oriented technologies to Polish industry, with particular emphasis on the Smalltalk programming language. In 2002, within the scope of ASTEC, two most popular Polish internet dictionaries (www.dict.pl, www.dep.pl) were created following his initiative. In 2003 ASTEC was the first company in Poland to publish dictionaries for Java enabled mobile phones and up till now the only one in the world which has developed and made available an integrated development environment (IDE) for Magik based on the Eclipse platform (www.mdt.net). Gislet (www.gislet.net) became the next result of ASTEC’s innovative aspirations — a mobile solution designated for network asset technicians, allowing for access to geospatial data in the field. Currently ongoing investments include: a visual queue identification system and a research system of customer behavior in stores, based on RTLS technology (www.rtls.pl).In 2000 he incorporated another company, Adips, where he provides expert assistance and invests in the creation of the Rublon system, constituting an entirely innovative approach to solving the Internet authentication problem.
