About Wiro Wirandi

I love ocean!I always thought my dream was to be a small scale fisherman, catching a grouper fish in a healthy coral reef and cook them on the beach side while looking at the beautiful sunset. It seemed like an appropriate dream given baclground from marine and fisheries science. I gravitated toward marine conservation and coastal community empowerment. But i kind of just felt i'm in a shallow water. I yearned to learn more, yearned to learn something different. And that's when it happened; the spark i was missing ignited the instant i clicked play on my first work in a marine and fisheries conservation NGO. Since then, I can't get enough. Working on campaigning sustainable ocean and best practices to government and private sector; it incorporates creativity and problem solving. My specialities include quick learning skills and adaptive fisheries management, marine conservation, coastal community empowerment, government and stakeholder engagement, research design for harvest strategies, risk-based assessment using CARE and PSA, collaborative management design and implementation, project cycle management, public campaign, energy and climate, youth training and youth mobilization for ocean and climate issues
