Safety Supervisor
Current• Supports, fosters, promotes, and demonstrates core values and safety behaviors• Supports and maintains department risk reduction activities• Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, safety, and security regulations (EHS)• Strong understanding of temporary work zone setup and flagging procedures • Monitors in-house and subcontractor crews by conducting regular safety observations and audits, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions as needed• Conducts safety meetings and distributes PPE, safety equipment, and on-site safety forms (I.E., JSAs, Job Briefs, Safety Observations, pre-use equipment inspections, etc.) • Conducts safety training for new and existing employees to comply with OSHA and industry regulations• Collects, reports, and maintains all safety department documents• Reports, documents and investigates safety incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazards according to established protocols• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety measures are integrated seamlessly into project planning, execution, and completion• Evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programs• Ensures adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards. Provides guidance to team members on compliance matters• Overviews company accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas• Works with trade and professional organizations to promote goals and objectives in the health and safety area that affect company's business• Establishes target areas and long-range accident prevention and cost-control objectives• Keeps apprised of developments in federal and state safety laws likely to affect the company• Works with fleet manager to ensure company drivers and vehicles are compliant with DOT and FMCSA requirements
