As a healthcare thought leader, speaker, blogger, writer, social media expert and health policy wonk, I have spent my entire professional career focused in the healthcare policy arena. I was the Executive Director of Patients for Fair Compensation. We sought to replace the current broken medical liability system with a no-blame, administrative compensation system. The Patients’ Compensation System will lower healthcare costs by eliminating the practice of defensive medicine, saving up to $650 billion per year nationally in unnecessary costs. Formerly I served as Vice President of Pharmacy Advocacy & Governmental Relations for RxAlly. Based in Leesburg, Virginia, RxAlly offers unique and innovation solutions for employers and health plans which leverage the role of community pharmacists to help patients improve their health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.I was a VP at the Center for Health Transformation (CHT), a health public policy think tank where I directed and managed specific projects for the Center including health justice (civil justice and tort reform) transformation, FDA Modernization, 21st Century Intelligent Pharmacy, health information technology and electronic prescribing, and healthcare quality and price transparency. I published a series of white papers, background policy briefing reports and opinion-editorial pieces on a broad range of health and healthcare policy issues. Prior to joing CHT, I led, managed and directed a state governmental affairs and communications programs for the Georgia Pharmacy Association, a position I held for 19 years.
