Womble is CEO of Umbrage and responsible for its overall vision and strategy. As an Umbrage founder & chairman, Womble often refers to his title as W.I.T. – whatever it takes. He knows full well the necessity of wearing multiple hats including: go-to-market execution, branding, marketing, recruitment, and contract negotiation. He has proudly worn similar hats throughout Umbrage’s infancy and its growth from six (6) original employees to its current state of nearly two hundred (200). Umbrage is Womble’s third startup, with prior experience at Hypergiant (AI-focused strategy firm) and Chaotic Moon (creative technology studio focused on digital product design + development). Umbrage was acquired by Bain & Company in January 2023. As Co-Founder, Chief Revenue Officer & Board Member of Hypergiant (HG), Womble’s responsibilities included end-to-end revenue growth; creation of strategic go-to-market partnerships and procurement of new clients, including: SLB; Shell; GE Power; GE Aviation; Apollo Aviation; Chesapeake Energy; Marathon Oil, Maclaren; Harper Collins and Bosch. Hypergiant was acquired by Trive Capital in August 2023. As a business development executive at Chaotic Moon (CM), Womble was responsible for building out the energy sector and aided in procuring new business at strategic accounts such as: ConocoPhillips; Halliburton; Nalco Champion; ExxonMobil; SLB. CM was acquired by Accenture/Accenture Interactive in July 2015. Post acquisition, Womble became a Managing Director & Energy/Oil & Gas Go-to-Market Lead inside Accenture, as well as North America Lead for Design & Innovation across all sectors at Accenture/Accenture Interactive. Womble holds a BBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and a Doctorate of Juris Prudence from South Texas College of Law. Womble is a recovering trial lawyer who represented victims as both a Harris County Assistant District Attorney as well as a subsequent civil prosecutor. He is a born and bred Houstonian, an insatiable golfer, and believes all Southpaws are natural artists, even if they haven’t discovered a specific craft.
