(Ron) Ward was elected president of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), becoming the first African-American to hold the post in the association’s then 114-year history. As president, Mr. Ward founded the WSBA Leadership Institute (WLI), a leadership development program focused on young lawyers from diverse traditionally underrepresented groups that has won national honors and has been adopted by several other states. Mr. Ward is the 2013 President, Washington chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a former President, Washington State Bar Foundation.
