In this capacity, my ultimate priority is to uphold and fulfill the mission of the National Weather Service, which is the protection of life and property. With many different roles that need to be fulfilled within the office, my routine duties are extremely varied. On any given day, my duties may include a combination of composing long-term and short-term public forecasts, aviation forecasts, fire weather forecasts, radar operations, issuing watch, warning, and other hazard products, providing support and collaboration to core partners, daily upper air radiosonde observations, river flood operations, routine hydrological and climate products, and disseminating information to the public through the web and various media outlets. Outside of routine operations, I am currently serving as a focal point for a few critical programs, such as the tropical, NOAA weather radio, and road programs. In December 2019 and January 2020, I served as a duty officer at the Southern Region's Operations Center in Fort Worth, TX, where I facilitated the logistical needs of regional forecast offices and served as a liaison between the NWS and federal and state level partners. Furthermore, I am actively involved with outreach events such as storm spotter training and educational talks for the local community. I also assist with field duties such as damage surveys and performing maintenance on co-op observation equipment. I am always welcoming new challenges to better serve our forecast office and enable our team and agency for success. Show less
