I'm a current senior at Virginia Tech majoring in physics pursuing an accelerated Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering with Dr. Jean Heremans. I most recently finished my REU at Montana State University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering REU, using optimizing the electron beam evaporation process of aluminum onto silicon wafers. Using atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and profilometry, we can characterize which fabrication recipes produce the smoothest thin films. My previous experiences working at the RT-REU in Raleigh, North Carolina on surface-level doping of organic semiconductors, and electromagnetic characterization of ferromagnetic thin films at Virginia Tech.
