While at Kent State University I earned a bachelors in political science along with a minor in history. My field of study taught me a lot about critical thinking, different ways of thinkings and communicating with others. I worked at Sherwin Williams as a sales associate and developed skills in customer service and customer experience. During the summers between 2015 and 2021 I worked at Canterbury Golf Club where I learned many hands on skills, and the job taught me about grit. It was a physically exhausting job that saw a lot of employees come and go due to people not being able to work the strenuous hours. However, I enjoyed the variation of tasks the job required day to day and I enjoyed collaborating with a group of hard working coworkers to get objectives completed. I am someonewho likes taking on new tasks and finding creative ways of solving them. I love to learn and applying that love of learning to developing new skills. I have taken on several leadership roles throughout my early career. Firstly, I was the president of the Kent State Men's Chorus during my senior year. I helped plan group meetings and the annual "Barber Shop Quartet Valentunes" money drive. At Canterbury, I would help train new employees skills, techniques and how to operate machinery they did not have previous experience with. Finally, as an educator I taught 10th grade US History for as part of me earning my teaching licensure all while dealing with the added difficulties of teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. I had to learn how to be flexible with a constantly changing teaching environment where I went from teaching remotely, to in person classroom while simoutaniously teaching students who chose to stay remote.
