To create clear and detailed briefs for all departments within the factory from the artwork studio, print room and finishing lines, clearly advising special instructions and ensuring that these instructions are carried out. Imposition, folding and understanding best methods of production were also a large part of the briefs prepared.Provide "dummies" when possible for projects and follow through from production to completion.Recognising and managing client expectations and rejecting if quality standards were not met.Working to very tight deadlines.Purchasing of suitable quantities of paper/other material, inks when required and arranging outwork such as cover lamination, foil blocking and handwork.To provide quality control to all jobs dispatched, ensuring each box was packed correctly and that label instructions met the standards set out by retail clients.

To ensure the smooth management of a large number of regular short run magazine clients & publication agencies.Recognising and understanding all job by job production requirements and preparing detailed briefs for all areas of the factory, creating complex impositions and highlighting important additional instructions such as tip-ons, bound in reply cards etc.Working with the pre-press department to ensure files received were suitable for print and arranging replacement files when not suitable. Ability to "preflight" PDF files and of highlighting potential issues, understanding plate ripping processes including the complex overprinting and "faffing" problems.Liaising with production schedulers when jobs were delayed to provide suitable alternatives.Arrange customer visits to encourage improvements, discuss and act on customer concerns and to obtain additional work.
