The role involved consulting organisations in the charity sector about direct marketing. I later moved into a Strategic Account Manager role in a global HR consultancy that offered outplacement, change management, coaching, L&D and assessment services. At the same time I studied for a qualification in adult literacy and taught this in the evenings as well as designing and delivering a module in basic virology to a number of health professionals.It became apparent to me and others that the teaching and training part of my life was what really energised me and gave me the most satisfaction. In future commercial job roles, I was still involved in training clients about our products and services as well as designing and delivering team building interventions using a number of tools, model and psychometric instruments I am conversant with. I also trained as an executive coach and offered this service internally at Pearson Now that I have retired from the corporate world, I am keen to once again use my passion for teaching adult literacy, training, coaching and facilitation with 3rd sector organisations whose work and values fit my own.
