After a fire burned his family's home to the ground, Wynne's parents hired Sacramento, CA based architect - and showman - Carter Sparks to design a new home. A year later, just after construction, Wynne was born. He grew up playing Matchbox cars with Carter on the family room floor, racing up and down the streets of cities they would imagine together. Long before Wynne's career began, Carter's design insights and ideas were ingrained in daily life, giving Wynne a love of architecture.Over the 35 years of his adult life, Wynne has earned his keep as an architect, developer, home builder, general contractor, carpenter, dishwasher, farm equipment operator, project manager for an architecture/design/fabrication shop, ski and snowboard coach, and university instructor. From designing exquisite projects for clients to building two homes for his family, overhauling bicycles to teaching himself to snowboard after turning 40 - Wynne believes learning is inseparable from creating. He's been called modern, sustainable, innovative, inquisitive, altruistic, efficient, magical, scrappy, unconventional, meticulous, organized, and even once - “hillbilly chic.” He is an excellent communicator, values organization in teams, and inspires groups to produce award-winning solutions. With the partners at Locus, Wynne leads projects - residential, multi-family, public, religious, commercial, food service, and industrial - using the stories of families, organizations, and businesses to inspire their full potential.
