If you’re looking for a skilled young individual with a passion for science and the natural world, then you’ve found the right candidate. Botany may have been my favorite subject at university, but I do have a curious mind and love expanding my horizons on anything related to science. My interests currently lie in the conservation of native biodiversity, which is why I am doing my master's in science on the matter this year. I graduated from the University of the Free State majoring in Botany and Genetics and continued to do my honor’s degree in Botany. I spent the entirety of that year compiling data from scientific sources and working in the laboratory to prepare pollen samples. Needless to say, I am a quick learner as I was exposed to plenty of new methods and programs, including r statistical software, in order to study the ecology of the paleo Free State. Being a student, I do have a wealth of experience using office programs and creating presentations and documents. I know how to navigate research in an organized manner as this is what most of my time is currently occupied with. I am a hard worker and, although I may take a while to get accustomed to new duties, once I get the hang of them, I am highly efficient.Applying for work can be intimidating, therefore I want to apply for roles that I am certain I will excel at, though I am certain I will excel at anything you throw at me. I want to gain experience in a setting that will continuously support me in my growth, professionally and personally.
