Designing and structural checking of machines and structures of offshore systems. I am inter alia responsible for the following activities: 4800 [kips] Deep Sea Tensioner SystemI helpt design the basic design of a heave compensated deep sea tension system. Among other the system is consisting out of 12 passive heave compensators. The system is easy accessible for maintenance and the heave compensators are all the same build and easy exchangeable. Because of my innovative reeving design, the system needs only half the sheaves initially planned and has a surprisingly small build volume relative to the high riser capacity. Engineering Work Instruction Pad EyesLack of clarity about the classification, legislation, load testing, certification, numbering, marking and administrating of pad eyes used to cause delays for multiple projects at Huisman and also had the potential to cause downtime during the operational life time of the equipment.In order to prevent these problems from happening during future projects I developed an engineering work instruction for Huisman Equipment in order to correctly and efficiently manage pad eyes throughout all projects. Load testing the 600 [mt] Ball joint and Moon Pool HatchesDuring the commissioning of the equipment on board of the Subsea Seven Rio I was inter alia involved with the load test of the Ball Joint and Moon Pool Hatches. To meet the clients requirements some last minute changes had to be made to the load test plan. In close cooperation with the client, the ship builder, project management, commissioning department and the hydraulic department, I was responsible for the redesigning, structural checking and coordinating of the load test plan.
