PhD in collaboration with AEGIR-Marine BV: "Stern tube seals for large ships with Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs)"Main tasks:- Research on the static and dynamic rotary lip seals for the marine industry.- Material characterization with special focus on FKM compounds (Viton).- Rheological characterization of EALs and their chemical compatibility with the seals materials.- Modelling of the seal-shaft tribological system.By the end of the project, AEGIR-Marine BV obtained a set of test rigs, computational tools and testing procedures making it possible to develop their own state-of-the-art sealing components. Five publications, and four conference proceedings resulted from it.

Stirling engine development for renewable energy solutions:- Special focus on the PTFE piston rod seal.- Crankdrive components analysis.- Finite Elements modelling (collaboration with the CSC group in Finland).- Material characterization (collaboration with Veryst Engineering).- Design of Experiments, Setups and novel Testing methods.

Computational modeling of the thrust bearings used by Vattenfall Vattenkraft AB. The model was used to rearrange the spring bed of the Harsprånget main water turbine leading to a lower operating temperature. A scientific publication resulted from it. Computational modeling of the reciprocating sealing components used in Stirling engines.
