Caracas Area, Venezuela

The objective of the intership was evaluating the effect of a pretreatment of nitration with ammonia on the activity of a commercial hydrotreating catalyst based Ni-Mo/Al2O3 oxide (AERO HDS-3A). Under measurement of HDS activity was observed that the conversion of thiophene was doubled when the commercial catalyst was subjected to nitration-reduction followed by sulfiding in situ.
