Immunologist specialized in cell biology seeking to apply my skill set in the development and discovery of new treatments to improve human health. My interest in cell biology brought me to acquire a unique skill set that encompasses cell biology, immunology, immunometabolism, cancer biology and metabolic diseases. I developed an expertise and a passion in the study and manipulation of Natural Killer (NK) cell biology and their anti-tumor function. In addition, my previous work brought me to study myeloid cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells in the context of antigen presentation and mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. I have acquired a strong ability to choose and adapt different study models (in vitro, in vivo and ex-vivo systems) to investigate research questions. I am highly qualified in developing new innovative strategies and validation systems in vitro such as isolation and culture of primary cells (NK, DCs, macrophages), cell-based assays, functional assays (NK killing assay, cytokine production, antigen presentation assay, co-culture systems), molecular biology (RNA profiling, cloning), imaging, FACS, ELISA, Seahorse technology) to answer in vivo questions. I also have a good experience in project management, supervision and in grant writing. Additionally I have a track record as a strong team player, demonstrated by my contributions to other research projects in the form of co-author publications.
