Workforce Innovation Labs (WIL) maximizes resources and streamline processes to design, optimize, and deliver impactful and sustainable workforce development initiatives in the public and private sectors. WIL provides opportunities to innovate and collaborate to meet the needs of both industry and students to develop a diverse and more highly-skilled workforce, so that everybody wins.

Case for Cannabis (C4C) is an educational experience highlighting the workforce and entrepreneurial opportunities in one of the fastest-growing industries in California.

Served as an internal consultant to the 28 Bay Area Community Colleges. Developed and maintained relationships between businesses, entrepreneurs, and the local community colleges to develop regional talent that leads to living-wage careers and reduces equity gaps for our local community college students. Major projects included: - Regional Faculty Development Initiative- in partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), we implemented a regional professional development program to teach the best equity-driven practices to be a more effective online instructor. - Bay Region Cannabis Workforce and Education Initiative- managed and executed a 24-month grant to normalize the legal cannabis industry and inspire college faculty to develop curricula for the industry's workforce needs. Outcomes included a filming series, educational bus tours, the 1st California Education Conference, and the development of DACUM charts and curriculum maps. - Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem- In partnership with ESO Ventures, secured a $700k grant to develop a network of incubators to empower and train Black and Brown entrepreneurs at 6 Bay Area community colleges.- Development of regional advisory boards to help colleges align with the workforce needs of the industry.

My primary responsibilities were to teach faculty in online course design, video editing, and encourage them to enhance the level of engagement with their students. Through this opportunity, I refined my skills in video editing, faculty to faculty instruction, UX, accessibility, and equity-focused design. In spring and summer of 2018, I served as the Interim Coordinator of the Management Program. I began the process of revamping and updating the curriculum to align better with today's workforce demands. As an instructor, my expertise is in Business Management and Leadership, however I enjoy teaching all business disciplines. I have embraced the 'flipped classroom' pedagogy and I emphasize high levels of participation during class sessions by bringing in current events and prioritizing student to student problem solving. To help better support my students and the environment, I offer a 99% paperless course by leveraging the Canvas platform. Quizzes, assignments, lectures and homework review are delivered and received through Canvas. I strategically use screen capture recording software to provide an additional format for students and use video conference technology to be more accessible to students. I design all my classes to be delivered in an online, hybrid, and traditional format. I am always looking for ways to become a better teacher. In 2018, I completed the Online Special Expertise Certificate through the Distance Education Department. In the summer of 2017, I attended the ASCCC's Summer Part-Time Faculty Leadership Institute and the Online Teaching Conference which focused on innovative pedagogy, online learning and teaching, professional development and leadership.

- Served as the emergency response liaison between executive leadership and the Santa Rosa Campus and provided recommendations related to campus closure, purchased emergency supplies for students, and effectively coordinated communication between all stakeholders during the 2017 North Bay wildfires. - Develops and manages a $650k campus budget, analyzes cost effectiveness, and plans and allocates funds. Discovered and resolved an $11k billing error in FY14.- Assists with the development of annual enrollment projections in coordination with the schools and colleges. - Maintains knowledge of the community, its educational needs, and competitor programs and institutions. - Develops marketing strategies, materials, and outreach programs as well as advertising, promotional, and direct mail/electronic campaigns. - Designs, develops, and facilitates biannual New Student Orientations and monthly information meetings.- Manages branch campus facilities, including room schedule, supplies, security, safety, and maintenance. Creates and maintains a campus environment for students and faculty conducive to teaching and learning. - Trains and supervises, colleagues who provide recruitment and enrollment services to current and prospective students in the region as well as branch campus staff. Consults with faculty to identify students’ needs and problems. Reviews transcripts and conducts unofficial transcript evaluation. - Manages and sets standards for retention and other student services to prospective, current, re-entry, alumni, and returning students in the region. - Communicates and builds professional relationships with the corporate, not for profit, educational, and professional community in the Sonoma County region. - Served and participated on 8 hiring committees to assist my colleagues and supervisors in selecting new staff members. - Well-versed in event management: planning, outreach, execution, public speaking, follow-up, and reflection.

- Executed and analyzed annual marketing plan: met with advertisers, negotiated contracts, and created ad content and design.- Supported campus director in expanding campus offerings and brand awareness in the Sacramento region.- Conducted information meetings and represented USF at education fairs, community colleges, corporate, and other community events. - Screened, advised and informed prospective students about academic programs, degree planning, and career trends. - Created annual marketing plan for the campus and managed $150k annual marketing budget.

- Oversaw and managed after-school programs in school districts in Antioch, Santa Clara, Richmond, Hayward, San Mateo and Inglewood. - Managed the largest area in the company, with a yield of 1.5 million dollars in annual revenues. - Executed all aspects of program management: implementation, student recruitment and retention, hiring and training, monitoring program quality and operations. - Successfully managed 13 school sites that consisted of 76 part-time academic coaches and over 700 students in Spring/Summer 2007. - Developed and maintained relationships with educators and school district customers to help grow the client base.

- Increased memberships by 250% in the first 6 months of employment. - Effectively utilized business acumen, strong sales pitches, marketing strategies and campaigns to positively affect revenue and sales - Successfully exceeded company and regional sales targets and accomplished strong sales conversion and accomplished strong sales conversion rates of 85% and above. - Effectively hired, trained, scheduled, and managed a full-time and part-time staff consisting of eight employees. - Gained knowledge and experience to become an expert in consultative sales while providing excellent customer service to over 300 members and their families. - Tutored children from ages 4 to 14 in all academic areas such as Math, Reading, Writing and Algebra while serving as an Academic Role Model.
