I am a professional fundraiser and musician/teacher. I currently serves as the Major Gifts Officer for Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities in Traverse City. Groundwork is a nonprofit that creates sustainable solutions in local food, climate change, and livable towns and works to protect the environment while also growing the economy. As their Major Gift Officer, I work closely with the development team, staff, and board, to curate a culture of philanthropy and raise the necessary major gifts for various projects and campaigns.I stepped down from the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts (RRCA) after having served for six years as their Executive Director. I increased partnerships within the Manistee community with local and regional business leaders and corporations to support programming and operations at the RRCA. That led to the transformation of the performing and visual arts programs at the Ramsdell through content diversification that reached thousands of patrons per year. I also successfully led fundraising campaigns that strengthened existing programs and supported capital campaigns like the art gallery space in Hardy Hall and state-of-the-art upgrades to the Ramsdell Theatre’s sound system. Much of this collaborative energy came from my time at the Sphinx Organization in Detroit. At Sphinx, I expanded the educational programming profile to a national level, which received one of the highest honors at the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards, hosted by former First Lady Michelle Obama. I am a skilled and professional percussionist and educator, and received my degrees from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater & Dance in Ann Arbor, MI in music performance with a K-12 teaching certification. I am currently teaching a private lessons and teach the Wind Symphony Percussion Section and the Drumline at West Shore Community College (WSCC) in Scottville, MI. I also play drums for the musical productions at WSCC. I'm passionate about education and have served as a teacher and clinician in several states. I have performed nationally and internationally in a variety of ensembles and have appeared on PBS television broadcasts with the Sphinx Symphony, the unique all Black and Latino orchestra comprised of top professionals from around the country. I also co-founded the contemporary percussion group, Identity Cubed.
