I am a mature-aged student at Griffith University (GU) pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with a passion for health and wellness. As a conscientious and organised individual, I take pride in delivering high-quality work. This commitment to excellence has been recognised with the GU Award for Academic Excellence, placing me in the top 5% of all GU students across both my completed years of study. My experience as a Cruise Coordinator at TripADeal sharpened my attention to detail, self-management, and communication skills. I efficiently managed cruise bookings, liaised with cruise lines and booking agencies, and thrived in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, consistently delivering results for thousands of travellers. In my childcare roles with Little Wild Things, Coastal Babysitters, and KidzKlub Australia, I developed adaptability and resilience, as every day brought new challenges. I also worked as a disability support worker for a family with a special needs child, a role that taught me how to handle unpredictable situations under pressure while reflecting on my performance to improve.I actively volunteer with several organisations that align with my passion for helping vulnerable populations. Through my work with the Red Cross, I provided companionship to elderly individuals in aged care, deepening my empathy and understanding of their needs. Volunteering with 'Rosies' allowed me to connect with individuals experiencing homelessness. My involvement with the Disabled Surfers Association has enhanced my ability to support people with varying needs, helping others experience the joy of surfing. I also volunteer at GU's Healthier Mornings Initiative, preparing and serving smoothies to students while promoting health and wellbeing. These diverse volunteering experiences have enriched my perspective, deepened my empathy, and reinforced my commitment to health equity. They have prepared me to work with individuals from all walks of life and shaped my approach to future work as a Dietitian.Outside of work and volunteering, I’ve been a dedicated soccer player for over 18 years and, more recently, joined the Byron Bay Waterpolo team. These activities have helped me build teamwork skills and maintain an active lifestyle. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, creating nourishing recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones. With a career that revolves around food and nutrition, I am excited to continue my journey and contribute to the health and wellbeing of others in a professional Dietetics capacity.
