Perform Incident Management functions as prescribed by the Incident Management Team within the standard operating practices and processes of ITIL service operation framework to better scale and streamline process.
Network Operations Center (Noc) Engineer
• Monitor systems and validate alerts using various of monitoring and troubleshooting tools both proprietary and in-house utilities to resolve system/network performance and other related issues. Monitoring tools such as: GOMEZ, Nagios, Solarwinds Splunk, Performance Collectors, ViewSpace, MRTG, DB Ping, ErrorMon/ErrorTracker and array of in-house monitoring tools.• Accept and validate full code builds from the Development team and deploy them to the production environment. This includes changing configurations to the site such as turning on/off the features of the site.• Configure, optimize, and fine-tune monitoring systems, production and non-production servers environment.• Create, track, and manage trouble tickets using Altiris ticketing system.• Escalate trouble tickets/issues to the appropriate teams, upper level Engineers, Developers, and Management as needed.• Perform account Rollover and Hourly testing reports to check the availability and functionality of the site.• Perform NOC issues updates (outage) and drive the incident to resolution of the issues within SLA.• Work proactively to refine documentation of systems/networks resolutions and procedures using SharePoint.• Provide a detailed handover to the next shift to ensure that customers receive a seamless level of service consistency and smooth transition during shift handoffs.
Windows Service Engineer
• Assist and maintain the Active Directory Network Administrations, Installation and Configurations of Windows Server 2003 environment, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Backup Systems and Remote Administration.• Desktop installations and configurations of Operating Systems and Hardware, including Dell and IBM workstations, Network Print devices, IBM ThinkPad Laptops, DELL Laptops, HP Scanners, LCD projectors, Wireless Access Points, and other computer and network devices.• Provide technical support onsite or remote troubleshooting regarding Servers, Workstations, Applications software, Printers and Network connection problems.• Perform backup systems and restore (Acronis).
System Administrator
• Manage, monitor and control operations and maintenance of operating systems, applications, and database and network connections of the University’s Information System.• Support Information Systems: Finance Information Systems (FIS) using the JDE One World software, Library Information System (LibIS) using GEAC, AdLib Systems and The Library Corporation (TLC) - Library•Solution Software, Academic Registry Information System (ARIS) and Human Resources Management Information System (HRM-IS) both uses in house software.• Provide technical support to various Information Systems in the University.
