Hey! I'm John, a Video Production and Digital Marketing professional in NYC. You might see me on socials or other places as "Xhon Dang". That's because my family is from Albania, and in Albanian John is spelled Xhon. The "Dang" was my own personal touch because I just liked the way it flowed with one syllable each. My family moved to the US as refugees in '92, and I've been kickin' it here ever since. I won't bore you with the details about how and when I fell in love with what I do, but I will say I find it to be the most gratifying thing that gets me out of bed every single day. To design ideas, craft stories, build them in the real world, and see them come to fruition is an experience that excites me unlike anything else. My ideal businesses, freelancers, and entrepreneurs I enjoy working with are forward-thinking, motivated, and exceptionally empathetic with a strong sense of awareness of themselves and those around them. Bonus: the stranger a person is, the more fond I am of them. I like to work with brands and businesses that have a great company culture and put a strong emphasis on the well-being of their employees. I believe that companies that operate like this are set up for success in the long run. People are happier, quality of life improved, which inevitably results in increased work performance and productivity. The math is fairly simple: Happier, less stressed people do great things. If I'm asked what's my favorite thing about myself in my line of work, it's how I treat people. My crew, my clients, colleagues, and others. In business and life in general, I have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. Even under immense stress, I have to be a leader and figure of patience and kindness.I intend to lead every team, every production, every crew, and every project with every single person's individual needs in mind. I strive to create atmospheres of comfort because I know what it's like to feel like you're suffocating in an atmosphere that wants to deprive you of oxygen.
