Dr. Xiaofan (Frank) Yang is a partner in the San Diego office of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP (Procopio), where he provides strategic intellectual property counseling to growth enterprises in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. He works with both venture-backed and public companies. His expertise includes patent strategic counselling and patent prosecution to support life science growth enterprises in all stages of development, from proof of concept to clinical development, to regulatory approval, and to product launch. He also specializes in patent diligence (both buyer and seller side) for venture financings, public offerings, partnering transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his legal career, Dr. Yang worked as a medicinal chemist for Solvay Organics GmbH and Bayer Pharmaceuticals for more than four years. Dr. Yang is a co-awardee of the prestigious "Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award" for his research work in organic synthesis using environmentally friendly solvents.
