My name is Xiaohan Yu, and I go by Lucas. I'm a rising sophomore at Purdue University currently seeking internships or similar industry experiences. I have shown proficiency for programming in over 5 languages, working with small single-board computers such as the raspberry pi Pico, and Computer Aided Design. I am currently researching into Artificial Intelligence for both Computer Vision and Customer Segmentation. Partnering with the insurance company Pacific Life, I am practicing simple AI algorithms like K-Prototype and K-nearest neighbor to separate customer based on their policies. My results is contributing to help the company improve their policy designs.As for soft skills, I have demonstrated both leadership and team harmony abilities in the past years. During the first year of my college experience, I am a contributing member of the following student organizations: Physics Student Society; Purdue Robomaster; Purdue Autonomous Robotics Club; ECE Student Society; Chess Club; Table Tennis Club; Undergraduate Research Students Club; and the Multicultural Residence Student Connection. Among them, I am a member of the respective competition team in 3 of them. Additionally, over my high school career, I held the title of the Chair of Academic Committee at the School Senate; the treasurer of my Student Technology Association; and the founder of the Table Tennis Club.
