With over 9 years of experience in biomedical research, I am passionate about investigating the mechanisms and developing therapeutics for diseases with unmet medical needs. My field of expertise is pathology, endocrinology, cancer biology and genetics, and I have a Ph.D. in experimental pathology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Boston Children's Hospital, one of the leading pediatric hospitals in the world. I share the hospital's mission of advancing science, health, and innovation for children and families, and I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team as a Chinese scientist and scholar. In my current role, I am conducting in vitro pharmacology research with focus on small molecule screening and validation for a rare pediatric genetic disease, using various techniques such as nanopore sequencing, viral based cell line engineering, high throughput screening with high content imaging, and flow cytometry. I am also establishing and maintaining the tissue bank of patients with certain rare diseases for clinical study. I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, and presented my findings at national and international conferences. I am also the former president of the Harvard Medical School Chinese Scientists and Scholars Association, where I organized and facilitated academic and social events for the Chinese community at Harvard Medical School.
