I work with colleagues across several departments including General Accounting and Joint Use. - Create journal entries to capitalize CWIP costs, transfer costs between work orders or projects, record depreciation of major generation plants and retirement of junk meters and City vehicles, reconciliate balance difference between financial statements, record expense, reverse AFUDC, etc. -Create reconciliation templates for Generation-related Roads and Bridges, Transmission-related Roads and Trails, Communication Equipments, etc., which would be uploaded to the new PSAM system. -Use of Excel, Oracle SQL Developer, WAMS, PeoleSoft, Outlook, etc. on a daily basis. -Work with City's Environmental Department to claim insurance reimbursement for a recent major fire incident at Skagit. I was responsible for identifying reimbursable costs based on guidelines provided by the insurance company. -Assist General Accounting in updating customer data in Summit, logging in costs of work performed, and preparing final invoices to send to customers. -Prepare coding sheet for Public Work Contracts so Account Payable can pay companies the correct amount for work performed. -Approve WAMS work orders so engineers can start charging construction work to the appropriate work orders -Respond to email and phone inquiries about funding and work orders from engineers or companies
