(1) Design of a one-dimensional torus network-on-chip (NoC) with five switching nodes (routers).(2) Round Robin arbitration scheme is adopted to implement cycle-by-cycle input arbiter.(3) Oblivious arbitration scheme is used in the input arbiter with a grant-hold circuitry realizing uninterrupted transmission of data for consecutive cycles.(4) Routing algorithm, which ensures the minimum traversal path and bidirectional transport, is invoked to determine the output direction taken by outgoing flits.(5) The constructs of the network are described by Verilog HDL, and the correctness has been verified by corresponding test benches.(6) The on-chip network supports the communication between five senders (IP Cores) and five receivers (IP Cores). Each router inside the network can tackle three input flits concurrently. And output flits can be forwarded to three different directions based on the routing algorithm.
