Joined H3biomedicine in Jan 2019 to establish an immuno-oncology discovery biology engine and manage an in vivo pharmacology platform. Major contributions include: 1) Built a differentiated immuno-oncology pipelines focusing on innate immune modulation and tumor immunogenicity reprogramming from target validation to phase 1 clinical trials with modalities of small molecule, antibody and antibody drug conjugates (ADC)2) Filed two INDs, achieved one clinical proof-of-principle for STING agonist E7766, one candidate selection on multiple myeloma targeting ADC, two lead identification with in vivo POC for novel immunotherapy ADC projects, and initiated multiple initiatives via collaboration3) Led strategic collaboration program with Bristol-Myers-Squib to discover RNA splice modulation-based novel IO therapies by reprogramming tumor neoantigens. Investigation of the molecular mechanism and biosynthesis pathway of complex cell surface carbohydrates in lymphocyte trafficking and immune response generation:● Identified a novel class of L-selectin carbohydrate ligands and heparan sulfate as chemokine co-receptors that cooperatively guide the lymphocyte trafficking for immune response generation and tumor growth in animals through genetic approach● Demonstrated a novel tumor suppressor function of dystroglycan-mediated cancer cell-extracellular matrix interaction in prostate cancer using a combined approach of genetics and orthotopic animal tumor modeling● Discovered a compound that inhibits inflammatory response in a mouse model by blocking heparan sulfate-CCL20 interaction ● Prepared research grants and publications in Immunity, Nature Immunology, Nature Chemical Biology, PNAS and etc.

Molecular characterization of glycan-mediated growth factor signaling and role in in cell morphogenesis and T cell activation. Discovered a neurite outgrowth-promoting activity of brain IdoA-containing CS/DS through facilitating signaling of a brain-specific growth factor, pleiotrophin, and developed the first monoclonal antibody for oversulfated dermatan sulfate.
