About Xinyi Chen

During my time at Yale, I was a founding member of the Yale Undergraduate Research Journal (YURJ) and Symposia, the YURJ online magazine; Site Coordinator for Yale Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA); four-year chair for Yale Model United Nations; and researcher for Mental Health Connecticut, in cooperation with the Yale University Legal Aid Association (YULAA) to research the intersectionalities of race, mental health, law enforcement, and the judicial system. I began my nonprofit development career as a member of the Yale Alumni Fund Student Ambassadors, an on-campus organization that aims to foster understanding among undergraduates of the importance of philanthropic contributions to the university. As chair of the Senior Roll Call committee, I organized events and drafted correspondence for the senior class to introduce the goals of the Alumni Fund and connect soon-to-be-graduates with alumni donors. After graduating, I was invited to continue with the Fund as one of the youngest members of the Board of Directors.
