Prof. Liu directs the Environmental Interfacial Technology Lab at George Washington University. Our research aims to develop more durable, cost-effective, selective, and electrified separation processes for water treatment and critical materials recovery. We currently explore the application of interfacial and separation technologies in 1) water desalination; 2) groundwater remediation; and 3) direct lithium extraction.Ellexco offers a chemical-free, electricity-driven direct lithium extraction technology for geothermal brines, continental brines, and other unconventional lithium brines. Our goal is to make lithium mining more environmentally friendly, less carbon emission, and more cost-effective.
